Both student and professional oboe reeds are handmade using the American style scrape and careful cane selection.

Student reeds are made with beginner and intermediate oboists in mind. These are a little more free blowing with a healthy amount of resistance built in as students learn to establish good habits with their air and embouchure.

Professional reeds also have a healthy resistance that can cover a range of color, dynamics and resonance. These are ones I would personally use in my own playing.

I recommend using cork grease if the reed is difficult to insert into the reed well. If the reed is not snug and loose in the reed well, wrapping plumbers tape around the cork will help.

Since each reed is handmade, please expect fulfillment to be between 5-7 business days. Reeds will be sanitized before shipping.
